A Night to Remember: Farmers’ Feast is This Saturday!

ree

Every August, just as summer begins to soften into fall, a tradition takes root here in Pendleton County. Tables are dressed beneath the open sky, neighbors gather side by side, and the air hums with the sound of laughter, music, and the clinking of glasses. It’s a night that feels both timeless and fresh each year—our beloved Farmers’ Feast.

This Saturday, August 23rd, we’ll gather once again for the 10th annual celebration, carrying forward a tradition that began a decade ago and has become one of the most anticipated nights of the season. The Feast has always been about more than food—it’s about honoring the land, the hands that tend it, and the community that grows stronger when we share a table together.

Every course tells a story. The vegetables are grown in local soil, the meats raised on familiar pastures, the breads and sweets baked with recipes that echo kitchens of the past. And each year, a different small business has the honor of weaving those ingredients into a fine dining experience. This year, it’s Cross Creek Catering at the helm, bringing their own touch to the Feast while keeping the heart of it intact—food that connects us back to home.

The evening begins with hors d’oeuvres and local wines from Rose Hill Farm Winery, followed by a three-course meal that will stretch out like a story—each dish building on the last. As the sun dips low and the first notes from the Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers drift across the fields, it will feel like stepping back to a slower, more neighborly time.

Part of the magic is the mystery—the Feast is held on a different Pendleton County farm each year, a secret kept until the night of the gathering. It’s a tradition that stirs up the same kind of excitement as waiting for a surprise gift, and no matter the farm, it never disappoints.

Over the years, the Feast has done more than feed us well. It has helped shape the very foundation of our Farmers’ Market, building the Pavilion that now serves as a home for more than 20 local farm families every Saturday from May through October. It has become a symbol of what can grow when neighbors work together—food, community, and memory.

This Saturday, we’ll break bread together once more. We’ll raise a glass to the farmers who feed us, the land that sustains us, and the community that makes it all possible. The Farmers’ Feast is more than an event—it’s a memory in the making, stitched with equal parts nostalgia and hope for the seasons still to come.

See you at the table.
