The Countdown Begins: What You Need to Know for the 2025 Market Season

Spring is here, and the Pendleton County Farmers Market is already gearing up for another incredible season! This past Monday, new and returning vendors met for another meeting filled with important market information as well as valuable training provided by the Pendleton County Extension office. With just 5 weekends left until Opening Day on May 3rd, we’re excited to share some updates and reminders for both vendors and customers.

Lindie Huffman, Pendleton County Extension Agent, Agriculture and Natural Resources, led the training for new and returning vendors during the first portion of the 2nd market meeting, held this past Monday, March 24th.

Market Hours for 2025

After thoughtful discussion, we’re keeping our 9 AM – 1 PM market hours for the 2025 season—just like in 2024! These hours allow customers to enjoy the best selection of fresh, local products while giving vendors time to set up and engage with the community.

Save the Date: 3rd Annual Pendleton County Farm Tour

Mark your calendars for July 12, 2025! Our annual Farm Tour is a fantastic opportunity to see where and how your favorite local foods are grown. Right now, applications are open to existing market farmers and producers. Additional farm spots may be available at a later date—stay tuned for details.

Visitors can explore some incredible farms during the annual Pendleton County Farm Tour, like the Rose Hill Winery, where they can sample wines and rack up over 5,000 steps walking the scenic path between the vineyard and the tasting barn.

Get Ready for Market Season!

We’re gearing up for an exciting season, and here’s how you can be prepared, too:

🛍️ Bring a sturdy tote bag! Don't have one? Grab a PCFM Market Tote, available for purchase from any vendor on Opening Day and throughout the market season. Perfect for hauling fresh produce, baked goods, and all your favorite market finds!

💵 Cash is king. While most vendors accept credit cards or other digital forms of payment, cash is always a safe bet—and sometimes the fastest way to check out.

Plan your visit. The market opens at 9 AM sharp, and early shopping is not allowed, so plan to arrive on time and enjoy the full experience! Here are a few tips to make the most of your visit:

  • Rain or shine, the market is hosted under a pavilion, so you can shop comfortably in the shade no matter the forecast!

  • Chat with the vendors. They love sharing tips on how to store, cook, or prepare their products!

  • Bring the whole family! The market is a great place to introduce kids to fresh, local foods and meet the farmers who grow them.

  • Follow us on Facebook before you come to see vendor updates and any special market day happenings.

📩 Subscribe to our email list so you never miss an update or exclusive market news!

The market tote will be available for purchase again this year, with all proceeds going to support our market!
